Coastguards was a holiday home that was stuck in the 1950’s. The new owners fell in love with it & could see its potential to become a large comfortable home that the whole extended family could stay in.
Boasting a prime position overlooking Thorpeness Beach & its uninterrupted sea views the house was completely renovated with this in mind, Juliette balconies & large window seats were fitted.
Walls were taken down & moved to make 4 double bedrooms & 2 family bathrooms.
A unique single storey extension comprising of a beautiful lead roof & bi-fold doors increased & enhanced the main living area to free up space for a large kitchen table.
The garden lay protected & undisturbed throughout the building work to the owners delight & so a patio was laid & an outside shower fitted for use after returning from the beach.
Planning permission, Building regulations were sought & a party wall agreement put in place prior to commencement of the renovation.
“My wife and I engaged Mark Crisp, Managing Director & Principal, at Chapel Properties in October 2016 to rebuild and completely refurbish our newly acquired 1930’s terraced cottage in Thorpeness. The work was completed on time and without any material issues by the end of May 2017; a timescale agreed at the commencement of the work.
In every respect we have found the work exemplary and the professionalism of the team to be first rate. I would highly recommend Mark Crisp and Chapel Properties to anyone considering similar work in the future.”
